Living in a mess now?

Are You living in a mess now?

Where will you be in 5 Years? 10 Years?

20? Where were you 10 Years ago?

Change has to start now!

Journey to Oneness – Entry 10

A few days before Thanksgiving, I went door to door
with a friend to senior subsidized homes to invite
senior citizens too our free Thanksgiving luncheon.

Most opened the door and some would invite us in for
a chat and a snack.

I didn’t turn anyone down as I love senior citizens
and being around them reminded me of my Grandmother.

One, in particular, stood out to me.

I don’t remember her name but she invited us in and
her third sentence after letting us in was,

“please excuse the mess, I’m thinking about moving
since the manager visited.”

Instantly, I thought, “this is me in 40 years”

I came in and it looked l Iike she was in the process
of moving. There were boxes and plastic bags and many
items around the house.

So i thought to quiz her a little bit.

I asked why she planned on moving and she said because
the manager came by and told her she had to clean and to
get rid of many items around her home.

She was quick to tell me that she planned on moving
anyway to another place but she wasnt sure about it yet.

My companion, another senior, told her that this was the
cheapest home around but she seemed to be in such a bind
about having to clean her home. She was 78 years old.

She laughed at the fact that her son told her that she
had to donate items.

She also asked if we wanted a lamp shade.

I couldn’t help but take a picture of her.

This was going to be me in 40 years so I better have
a visual if I wanted to go that route.

I felt sad.

Because she lived that way all this time.

Then I thought that it was a gift from God that
I had many more years to live and I could live free
from clutter and not ever have to go through this again.

We bid each other goodby and we proceeded to other doors.

Another senior let us in her home.

It was immaculate. This lady was 88 years old.

50 years older than me and she lived in absolute cleanliness.

Her furniture matched.

Her carpet was clean.

Everything was in order and there was nothing she
needed she didn’t use.

Her body was also thin and lean and she was of
optimum health.

The clutter lady was on plenty of medications and she
looked like she was struggling.

Then I thought but what Kathy said about organized
people living healthier lives.

And I knew there had to be a connection.

I have a friend who owns a janitorial business.

She doesn’t go to the gym but she is fit.

I went to help her out a few times and I felt better
at the end of the day because I moved around a lot.

“When your room is a mess, your mind is a mess”

That was what my mother used to say to me when I was younger.
And it is so very true.

So as things get clearer my mind is more at ease.
I know where things are and I feel very good about that.

Thank you Kathy!
I love you!! 🙂

I love you too Rhonda 🙂
