Week 2 – What do We Want Wednesday

This is our 2nd week, let’s see where this brings us.

Since it is January, I had the idea of a weekly Email, called: What do you Want Wednesday! Just for us insiders.

It’s important to remember, what it is you wanted when you got started with TTU.

It is important to keep in mind always something that has struck a chord, that instigated a plan or a change, because as time goes by we forget and something else creeps in to take its place and so on and so on.

That leaves us never getting anything we want because we don’t stay the course long enough with any one thing to make what we want to happen actually happen.

We get very committed to things we want at the onset because the emotion is strong.

But emotions are funny things, they are usually influenced by outside sources. How do we keep it going when the influence doesn’t exist anymore?

We have to create a trigger to help us remember on purpose to keep those emotions alive!

We need to keep that feeling going, or it will just fade, and the desire also will fade along with it.

We will not take any action when we lose desire, and that is why, so often, we don’t get what we want.

So I am going to send that same note that I’ve written above every Wednesday, (here is number 2) to remind you to remember what you want… and add a message from me to help motivate you to keep going.

Be sure to write down what you want, if the emotion has gone, bring it back again. Remember what it is you wanted and why, and write it down. – Look at it every day.

Comment right here on this blog every Wednesday. This is for you, no need to respond to everyone who wrote. We don’t need this to be work. Read others for inspiration but don’t feel you need to write a comment on everyone’s post.

We will just be letting each other know that we are still on track and we can post what it is every week that we are “Remembering.”

Note for Today 1-13-15: Be clear about what you need to do today. Take a second and think, “What one thing can I do today to bring me closer to my goal?” Then make sure that you do that one thing.

Regarding the house: Listen to a Cawfee Tawk. Take advantage of that archive of motivation. They are broken up by topic. Don’t over think it. Just chose one and listen to it casually while driving, getting ready for the morning, any time you have time, do that every day this week. See what kind of a difference it makes in your life to stay faithful to your goal to get AND keep the house together.

I amy reiterate this every week because it is so important.

CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. Be sure to be aware of the uncurious clutter. Remember that it doesn’t take longer to put the garbage in the pail as it does to toss it on the counter. It doesn’t take longer to put the towel on the hook as it does on the floor.

This week be mindful of your perception of time. Are you not doing things because you feel there is no time? Do you count Mississippi’s before you leave a room? If you don’t know what Mississippi’s are you aren’t to that section of TTU yet OR you actually haven’t taken the sessions… It’s important to know that this system only works if you work it, and you cannot work it based on the youtube videos you’ve seen so far, no matter how many of them you’ve watched.

Expect push back: We receive push back from our selves (The space between OUR and SELVES was written on purpose that way, we are more than one self, you don’t talk to your boss the same way you talk to your best friend, one self steps up as another steps back)

So expect push back from the self designed to protect you.

Change is scary for us because our primitive brain, that is still in place, see’s change as a threat and danger so it fights change tooth and nail. We have to resist the fear of change long enough for our ‘self’ to realize that there is no danger.

The part of you that is in charge of protecting you can be tricky. Since it’s only job is to protect you it will go to all sorts of ways to trick you into thinking that it is in your best interest to quit and go back to the status quo.

This week, be aware of every thought you have that would take you off your game to change this week.
Just be aware. Do something about it or not… This week, just be aware of it.

That would be a great share for you to write here in the comments section.

“What things did I talk myself out of doing this week that I WANTED to do that would have brought be closer to change?” Can I see Protector Self at work?

More next week,

Kathy

What I want is a well organised home that I can welcome friends and family into without embarrasment. We must replace our old outdated kitchen and bathroom, which dates from the 1950s, but the choice out there is overwhelming. I’ve put off making a decision for over 2 years. Today I arranged for someone to call discuss and quote. That’s one thing towards my goal.

Love it Darling girl! Make sure you use your binder with the planning. It will help you to be focused, to keep track of who you called, how they responded, their price, what you thought of them etc. You can also keep notes and brochures and website info about what you are looking into.

What I want is peace — a peaceful home with room to breathe and move. 🙂

Wonderful 🙂 Write it down, put it on the fridge or taped to your mirror. Read it every day this week.

I love what you want! See it, and feel it in your imagination. That will get you there sooner 🙂

I want me controlling my house instead of it being in charge. I will take your advice, Kathy, and post it over my kitchen sink.

Lets change the verbiage a bit to be more empowering. How about “I am in control of my home anomy life, and I have the support, program and absolute ability, and I am in control of it now!”

    How is it going?!?

I just read something, there was research done by The Journal of Consumer Research using difference terminology. Using “I don’t miss my workouts.” For example instead of “I can’t miss my workouts.” 8 out of 10 of the people that used those words kept their goals. Great topic for a future email.

I love how you are taking ownership of your to-dos! You got it going on. Not feeling like, “OH NO! I WILL NEVER GET IT DONE NOW!” you are living your life and putting some things on hold because people matter more. BUT you are not letting go of your routines, I love it!

Something I can do today to bring me closer to my goal is get on my website and work for an hour. Something I wanted to do but talked myself out of was finish going through my plastic containers in the kitchen.

Awesome, and now use this for what it is intended and report back. Either with I did it or I didn’t. Both are a step closer to doing it.

Wrote down what I initially wanted when I joined the TTU almost one year ago. Cleared my mind of all the “clutter” and focused on that 🙂

It is an ongoing thing. It is what every successful person does. However you define success. It all starts in the mind. Love it Rose
